A Guide to Big Games Still to Come

Real multiplayer game fans are always on the lookout for new releases and dive into the new titles as soon as they are out. We decided to take a look at some of the most anticipated multiplayer games of the year and provide you with some info on them.

One of the long-awaited games of 2017 is without doubt Sea of Thieves. The pirate-themed action-adventure MMO developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios is still in development and its release has been postponed to 2018. In the game, players will explore an open world and embark on different quests, searching for treasure, sailing, and engaging in battles against other pirate crews.

Crowfall is another upcoming multiplayer online role-playing game, developed by ArtCraft. The game is inspired by Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies, but the veteran teams creating it vow that it will be a new breed of MMO, where players will be able to build large kingdoms and conquer unique worlds. The world system will indeed be different from what we know, with five systems of worlds, also known as campaigns. The characters planned for the game will include a mixture of humans, demi-humans and animal-hybrids. Sounds good? Keep an eye out for this one!

Rockstar Games are also preparing something exciting for fans, namely Red Dead Redemption 2, a Western action-adventure title. The game’s main character is Arthur Morgan, a member of the Dutch van der Linde gang, and is a prequel to the first Red Dead Redemption game. It will have both single-player campaign and an online multiplayer component.

Developed by Asylum Entertainment, upcoming MMO Identity aims to change the repetitive character of some games on the market. The game’s creators want to do that by putting the entire economy in players’ hands. As such, most goods in the game will be designed by players and sold in player-owned stores. Additionally, they will have the freedom to get their own in-game job and career or engage in open world activities. Basically, live a customized, virtual life.

With so many new game releases in a year, it was not easy to pick just a few, but we hope that we piqued your interest with our short selection.
